Description

Experience the delightful fusion of creamy baked Brie topped with a sweet and spicy Jezebel peach glaze. This elegant appetizer combines the richness of Brie cheese with the vibrant flavors of jalapeño pepper jelly, spicy mustard, and ripe peaches, making it perfect for entertaining or a special snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Jezebel Peach Topping

  • 1 tablespoon hot jalapeño pepper jelly
  • 1 teaspoon spicy brown mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 large ripe peach, peeled and diced

Cheese

  • 1 Brie round (about 1313.2 oz.), ideally in a wooden box

To Serve

  • Assorted crackers or baguette slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350 °F (175 °C) to prepare for baking the Brie.
  2. Prepare Peach Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the hot jalapeño pepper jelly, spicy brown mustard, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Add the diced peach pieces and stir thoroughly to coat them evenly with the mixture.
  3. Prepare Brie: Remove the Brie from its packaging and optionally trim off the top rind for easier melting. Place the Brie round back into its wooden box or transfer it into a small baking dish.
  4. Initial Bake: Bake the Brie for approximately 10 minutes until it just begins to soften and become creamy.
  5. Add Topping and Finish Baking: Spoon the prepared peach-jelly mixture evenly over the softened Brie. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the topping is fully melted, bubbly, and warm.
  6. Serve: Carefully transfer the baked Brie to a serving platter and serve warm with assorted crackers or slices of baguette for dipping.

Notes

  • For easier peeling of the peach, blanch it in boiling water for 30 seconds and then plunge into ice water before dicing.
  • Removing the Brie rind is optional; leaving it on helps the cheese hold together as it bakes.
  • This appetizer is best served warm to enjoy the gooey texture and melded flavors.
  • Try substituting the peach with other stone fruits like apricots or nectarines for seasonal variations.
  • Use gluten-free crackers to make this recipe gluten-free if needed.
