Description

This Cheesesteak Tortellini Recipe combines tender Philly sirloin steaks, sautรฉed peppers and onions, and creamy cheese tortellini for a hearty, flavorful meal. Cooked in one pan with a rich heavy cream sauce and melted provolone cheese, it’s a comforting dish ready in just 20 minutes and perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Vegetables

  • 1 package (4 count) Philly Sirloin Steaks
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • ยฝ yellow onion, sliced

Seasoning and Oil

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 ยฝ teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning

Pasta and Dairy

  • 1 bag (19 ounces) frozen cheese tortellini
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat the Pan: In a large sautรฉ pan, heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil over medium-high heat to prepare for cooking the steaks and vegetables evenly.
  2. Cook Steaks and Veggies: Add the Philly sirloin steaks to one side of the pan and the sliced green bell pepper and yellow onion to the other. Sprinkle 1 ยฝ teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning over everything. Cook the steaks according to package instructions and allow the peppers and onions to become crisp-tender. Stir together the steaks and vegetables once cooked.
  3. Add Tortellini and Cream: Add the frozen cheese tortellini and 1 pint heavy cream to the pan with the steak and veggies. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the tortellini is cooked through.
  4. Melt the Cheese: Sprinkle 1 cup shredded provolone cheese over the tortellini. Replace the lid and allow the cheese to melt thoroughly. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Use a large sautรฉ pan to accommodate all ingredients and ensure even cooking.
  • Stir occasionally during simmering to prevent tortellini from sticking to the pan.
  • Adjust the amount of Montreal steak seasoning to taste for more or less spice.
  • For a lighter option, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a lighter cream alternative.
  • Serve with a side salad or crusty bread for a complete meal.
