These Chicken and Waffle Sliders are a fun and delicious twist on a classic comfort food combo. Perfect as an appetizer or party snack, these sliders offer a delightful mix of sweet and savory flavors with a satisfying crunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups pancake and waffle mix
  • 4 teaspoons bacon jam
  • 16 fully cooked breaded, boneless chicken wings (frozen)
  • ¼ cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare waffle batter: Follow the package directions for pancake and waffle mix, making sure to prepare it according to the waffle instructions for best results.
  2. Cook mini waffles: Heat a waffle bite maker and cook mini waffles until golden brown. You will need about 32 mini waffles total.
  3. Arrange waffles: Remove the waffles from the maker, separate them into small circles, and place them on a large serving plate.
  4. Spread bacon jam: Spread ¼ teaspoon of bacon jam over 16 of the mini waffles, evenly coating each one.
  5. Heat chicken wings: Heat the fully cooked breaded chicken wings as per package instructions. The preferred method is air frying for 4-5 minutes on each side until heated through to 165°F (74°C). Alternatively, use your preferred heating method.
  6. Assemble sliders: Place one heated chicken wing on top of the jam-covered mini waffle and then top with another mini waffle without jam.
  7. Secure sliders: Use a cocktail pick or long toothpick to push through the sandwich and keep it together.
  8. Repeat assembly: Repeat the process for all remaining chicken wings and waffles.
  9. Add maple syrup: Just before serving, drizzle the maple syrup evenly over all the sliders, ensuring some syrup gets into the waffle holes on top for added sweetness.

Notes

  • Make sure the chicken wings are heated thoroughly to at least 165°F (74°C) for food safety.
  • You can substitute the bacon jam with another savory spread if unavailable.
  • Mini waffle makers or waffle bite makers work best to create slider-sized waffles.
  • For a spicier version, add a dash of hot sauce to the chicken wings before assembling.
  • If you prefer gluten-free, use a certified gluten-free pancake and waffle mix.
