Ingredients
Scale
Steak Bites
- 2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
Sauce & Seasoning
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Garnish (Optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Sear the Steak (Optional): Heat a skillet over high heat and quickly sear the sirloin steak bites on all sides just until browned to lock in flavor and create a nice crust. This step is optional but enhances the meat’s taste and texture.
- Transfer to Crockpot: Place the seared or raw steak bites into the crockpot, spreading them out evenly.
- Add Sauce Ingredients: Pour melted butter, minced garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce into the crockpot. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, onion powder, and paprika over the steak bites. Stir gently to combine and coat all pieces evenly.
- Cook Low and Slow: Cover the crockpot and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours, or alternatively on HIGH for about 3 hours, until the steak bites are tender and flavorful.
- Thicken Sauce (Optional): If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon cold water until smooth. Stir this slurry into the crockpot and continue cooking on HIGH for an additional 15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the steak bites for a pop of color and fresh flavor. Serve the steak bites warm over mashed potatoes, rice, or your favorite side dishes.
Notes
- Searing the steak bites before slow cooking adds a deeper flavor but can be skipped for convenience.
- Add vegetables like mushrooms, onions, or bell peppers to the crockpot for a heartier meal.
- Use gluten-free Worcestershire sauce to make the recipe gluten-free.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
- For a richer flavor, use homemade beef broth if available.
