Description

This Easy 5-minute Strawberry Matcha Latte is a refreshing and vibrant drink combining the sweetness of fresh strawberries with the earthy flavor of matcha green tea. Perfect for a quick pick-me-up, this latte blends fruity and creamy flavors with a subtle caffeine boost, all made quickly at home with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberry Puree

  • 4 medium strawberries, stems removed
  • 2.5 tbsp white granulated sugar (or honey/maple syrup)

Milk Base

  • 3/4 cup milk (or plant-based milk)
  • 8 ice cubes (optional)

Matcha Mixture

  • 1.5 tsp matcha powder
  • 4 tbsp boiling water

Instructions

  1. Make Strawberry Puree: In a tall glass, combine the strawberries and sugar. Using a muddler, crush and mash the strawberries until they are fully pureed, releasing their juice and mixing with the sugar to create a sweet strawberry base.
  2. Add Ice Cubes: Layer the ice cubes on top of the fresh strawberry puree in the glass to chill the drink and add refreshing coldness.
  3. Pour Milk: Slowly pour your choice of milk (dairy or plant-based) over the ice cubes and strawberry puree, letting the creamy milk blend gently with the sweet fruit.
  4. Prepare Matcha Mixture: Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl to remove clumps. Add the boiling water, then whisk vigorously until the matcha becomes frothy and smooth, releasing its vibrant green color and flavor.
  5. Combine and Serve: Carefully pour the frothy matcha mixture over the milk in the glass. Gently stir just a little to combine layers for a beautiful gradient effect, then enjoy your homemade strawberry matcha latte immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute white sugar with honey or maple syrup for a natural sweetness.
  • Use any milk of your choice including almond, oat, soy, or regular cow’s milk to suit dietary preferences.
  • For a colder drink, make sure to chill your milk beforehand or add extra ice cubes.
  • Adjust the amount of matcha powder depending on your preference for bitterness and caffeine content.
  • Fresh strawberries work best but frozen strawberries can also be used if fresh are not available.
