Description

This refreshing Pomegranate Lemonade combines the tartness of fresh lemons with the sweet, tangy burst of pomegranate seeds or juice, blended to a smooth consistency and perfectly balanced with honey and sparkling water. It’s an invigorating drink ideal for warm days or anytime you want a vibrant, fruity beverage that’s both hydrating and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Juice and Sweetener

  • 5 lemons, juiced
  • 1/3 cup honey (or other vegan honey substitute)
  • 1 cup water

Pomegranate

  • 1 1/2 cups pomegranate arils (seeds) or 1 cup pomegranate juice

Additional Liquids

  • 3-4 cups water or sparkling water (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Blend ingredients: Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice, honey, 1 cup of water, and pomegranate seeds (or juice) into a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  2. Strain and dilute: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve or strainer into a jug or pitcher to remove the pomegranate seed remnants and any pulp. Then, add 3 to 4 cups of water or sparkling water depending on your desired dilution and taste. Stir thoroughly to combine.
  3. Serve: Pour the lemonade into glasses, optionally garnishing with lemon slices, ice cubes, and extra pomegranate arils for a colorful, festive presentation. Serve immediately for the best freshness and flavor.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, substitute honey with agave syrup or maple syrup.
  • Adjust the amount of sparkling water to your preferred level of fizziness.
  • Straining is important to achieve a smooth texture without crunchy pomegranate seeds.
  • This lemonade is best served chilled and consumed within 1-2 days for optimum freshness.
