Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, and salt. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution of the yeast and salt throughout the flour.
- Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, regular milk, and melted unsalted butter until well combined.
- Combine: Gradually add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients while stirring continuously until a rough dough forms. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 to 7 minutes until the dough becomes smooth, elastic, and slightly tacky.
- First Rise: Place the kneaded dough into a lightly greased bowl, covering it with a clean kitchen towel. Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free area for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- Shape and Second Rise: After the first rising, punch down the dough gently to release air bubbles. Shape the dough into a loaf form and place it into a greased loaf pan. Cover again with a towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes until it puffs up.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the bread turns a golden brown color and produces a hollow sound when tapped at the bottom.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then transfer the loaf onto a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving for the best texture.
Notes
- Ensure the yeast you use is fresh and active for proper rising.
- Using room temperature ingredients helps the dough come together more easily.
- If the dough is too sticky during kneading, lightly dust your surface with flour but avoid adding too much to keep the bread soft.
- If desired, you can brush the top of the loaf with melted butter right after baking for a softer crust.
- This bread can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
