Description

These Taco Bites are a quick and flavorful appetizer featuring seasoned ground beef served on crispy Tostitos Scoops tortilla chips, topped with classic taco toppings like sour cream, salsa, shredded cheese, green onion, and guacamole. Perfect for parties, game days, or casual get-togethers, they offer a convenient and delicious way to enjoy all the flavors of tacos in a bite-sized form.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Mixture

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup water

To Serve

  • 1 bag Tostitos Scoops tortilla chips
  • Sour cream, to taste
  • Chunky salsa, to taste
  • Shredded cheese, to taste
  • Sliced green onion, to taste
  • Guacamole, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef and onion: In a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion together. Stir occasionally until the beef is fully browned and no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes. Drain off any excess grease to keep the mixture from being oily.
  2. Simmer with seasoning: Add the taco seasoning, garlic powder, and water to the beef mixture. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and allow it to simmer gently. Continue cooking until the water evaporates and the mixture is heated through, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly for easier handling.
  3. Assemble the taco bites: Arrange the Tostitos Scoops tortilla chips on a large serving platter. Spoon approximately one tablespoon of the warm beef mixture onto each scoop chip. Top each with your choice of sour cream, chunky salsa, shredded cheese, sliced green onions, and guacamole. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Drain the grease well to avoid soggy chips and to keep the bites less greasy.
  • You can prep the beef mixture in advance and reheat before serving to save time.
  • Feel free to customize toppings according to your preferences, like adding jalapeños or diced tomatoes.
  • To keep the chips crisp, assemble just before serving.
  • This recipe is great for parties as it is easy to eat with fingers without utensils.
